How I got to Hacking

Covid, Ukraine and Cybersecurity

If you'd ask me few years back what I was thinking about my career and where I see myself in the nearest future, I would probably say "happily retired digging in my backyard and spending hours fighting sluggs and grubs". Kidding of course, but in a million years, I would never imagine myself staying up all night solving CTF challenges and making jokes like "HTTP my S"...

Then Covid hit. It hit hard All of us and my sanity in particularly. Routine is not my happy place and after slightly a year of the pandemic madness I was about to loose my mind, myself and ability to talk about anything besides ranting when all "THIS" gonna end. Being in the wrong place...

Ironically, one day watching my toddler trying to hack parental control (I used to work for a parental control startup a while back), I got an idea of learning about cybersecurity - one of the fastest growing industries in tech.

I always loved to learn and, to a large extent, still love it a lot... I enrolled myself in cybersecurity bootcamp hesitant if I comletely lost my mind. It took me by surprise how exciting the cybersecurity is and how much I became hungry for technical knowledge during the pandemic boredom.

After a war in Ukraine appeared in all headlines and the fact of cyberwar becoming inevitable, I realized how much my personal connection to this matter urges me to pursue cybersecurity career.

I want to learn, to educate and to protect.

Being in the wrong place at the right time I found my path to learn to use the Force...
